U.S. Paralympics Swimming Officials
To become certified as a Judge of Stroke (Deck Official) with U.S. Paralympics Swimming, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a current resident of the USA
- Have a current swim official’s certification with USA Swimming
- Attend a U.S.Paralympics Swimming Officials training course and:
- Officiate and be available for evaluation at all sessions of the swim meet
- Receive a positive evaluation and recommendation for certification
- Complete and attain a passing grade on the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Officials test
For Starter certification, the following additional requirements must also be met:
- Have been certified as a Starter with USA Swimming for a minimum of 1 year
- Have worked a minimum of 12 sessions as a Starter (after obtaining starter certification), at one or more USA Swimming meet(s)
- Must be certified as a Judge of Stroke with U.S. Paralympics Swimming.
The requirement to retain/re-certify the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Official certification, the official must:
- Attend a minimum of three swim meets designated as OPQM (Officials Para Qualifying Meet) prior to the current certification expiring
- Submit swim log to the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Officials Chair
Or
- Officiate at all sessions of a National level or above meet, which is hosted by U.S. Paralympics Swimming, prior to the current certification expiring.
