U.S. Paralympics Swimming Announces Coaching and Support Staff for 2025 World Para Swimming Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – U.S. Paralympics Swimming today announced the coaching and support staff that will lead the U.S. delegation at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships, set to take place Sept. 21-27 in Singapore. The roster of professionals includes some of the most experienced and dedicated personnel in the Paralympic Movement, selected to support the nation’s top Para swimmers as they compete on the world stage in the final event in the first year of the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic quad.

Coaching Staff
This year’s coaching staff reflects a deep pool of experience and commitment to the athlete experience. The team will be led by Dave Modzelewski, who brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the role.

Supporting Modzelewski will be following assistant coaches:

  • Patrick McCloskey (level three certification)
  • Kris Goodrich (level three certification)
  • Hanna Huston (level two certification)
  • Ben Colin (level three certification)
  • Jeff Rodriguez (level two certification)

Modzelewski brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as assistant coach at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and head coach at the Aberdeen Para Swimming World Series. As a Para swimming level three certified coach, he also held staff coaching roles at numerous domestic and international Para swimming competitions. In addition, he serves as the personal coach to two-time Paralympian Leanne Smith, who earned five Paralympic medals under his guidance.

“I’m honored to lead this group of exceptional coaches and professionals as we prepare our athletes for one of the key competitions in this Paralympic cycle,” said Dave Modzelewski, head coach for the 2025 U.S. world championships team. “We have a world-class team of athletes and staff, and I’m confident that together we’ll be able to create an environment where our athletes can thrive and perform at their best in Singapore.”

The coaching staff will be joined by a robust group of support staff that includes:

  • Team Leader – Amanda Duke Boulet
  • Sport Dietitian – Marta Scechura
  • Psychological Services – Dr. Mac Brown
  • Exercise Physiologist – Geoff Burns
  • Press Officer – Annemarie Blanco
  • Volunteer Team Physician – Dr. Stephanie Tow
  • Volunteer Team Physician – Dr. Joseph Chorley
  • Athletic Trainer – Neal Stepp
  • Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer – Kerry Conway Short
  • Personal Care Assistant – Kim Audibert


Amanda Duke Boulet, director of U.S. Paralympics Swimming and team leader for the event, expressed her confidence in the delegation.

“This group brings a strong balance of expertise, athlete-centered leadership and international experience,” said Duke Boulet. “From the deck to the medical team, our staff is committed to supporting our swimmers in and out of the water. With Los Angeles on the horizon, the world championships are an essential checkpoint, and I believe we have the right people in place to guide our athletes to success.”

The 2025 World Para Swimming Championships will bring together the top Para swimmers from around the globe and serve as a key benchmark for athletes and national programs ahead of the upcoming LA28 Paralympic Games.

The U.S. roster features 20 athletes – 13 women and seven men and includes multiple Paralympic and world champions, highlighting the depth of the national program as it rounds out the first year of the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic quad.
